At the helm of WHBA's leadership team is a 14-member, volunteer Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of seven Builder members, six Associate members and the past president. Directors are elected by the membership and serve staggered two-year terms, which begin the second Wednesday of September when the Installation of Officers ceremony takes place. Board of Director responsibilities as defined in the Association's Bylaws include: · Establishing and monitoring a Strategic Plan · Formulating Association policies and procedures · Monitoring member adherence to the Bylaws and Code of Ethics · Acting on the recommendation of the numerous volunteer committees Board meetings --- which are open to all members --- are traditionally held the second Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the location of the General Membership Meetings. Board meetings are held at the WHBA office June through August.
The Executive Committee is made up members elected by the General Membership, including the President, President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, Chairman of the Associate Advisory Committee and the immediate past president. Executive Committee members hold office for one year, and only a Builder member-of-record may serve as President/President Elect -- unless no Builder members are willing to run for office. The Executive Committee traditionally meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. |
