Association Information
Mission StatementThe Winnebago Home Builders Association (WHBA), is a not-for-profit trade organization made up of builders, remodelers, and associates representing the home building industry. WHBA provides information, resources, services and education to our members and the general public. WHBA is dedicated to promoting quality affordable housing through industry leadership, good business ethics, and community and government involvement. History Winnebago Home Builders Association (WHBA) held their first regular monthly meeting on June 13, 1990 at the Columbus Club at 1821 Jackson Drive, Oshkosh. They were only 1 1/2 months old and had a total of 46 members. They quickly reached the goal of 50 or more. They applied and received their charter from the National Association of Home Builders on August 31, 1990 and also became affiliated with the Wisconsin Builders Association. They are known as the first builders association to hold a Parade of Homes the first year organized. The association has now grown to over 230 members. Presidents since 1990, calendar year Sept-Aug: 1990-91 - George Crowner, Crowner Construction 1991-92 - Garry Decker, Garry H. Decker & Company 1992-93 – Ron Leichtfuss, Ron Leichtfuss Builders 1993-94 – Dave Downs, Dream Homes by David Downs 1994-95 – George Mathwig, G.M. Builders, Inc. 1995-96 – Roger Mathwig, Roger Mathwig Builders 1996-97 – Fred Litjens, Litjens Construction, Inc. 1997-98 – Jim Kubasta, Classic Homes by KUBA 1998-99 – Tim Rusch, Rusch Homes, LLC 1999-00 - Tim Rusch, Rusch Homes, LLC 2000-01 – Keith Decker, Fox Cities Construction Corp. 2001-02 – Phil Baeten, Phil Baeten Building & Remodeling 2002-03 – Jim Casey, Zillges Materials, Inc . 2003-04 – Kathy Ertmer, RMKE 2004-05 – Scott Schefchik, PortSide Builders 2005-06 – John Anderson, Horicon Bank 2006-07 – David Downs, Dream Homes by David Downs 2007-08 – Phil Baeten, Baeten Building & Remodeling, LLC 2008-09 - John Anderson, Horicon Bank Presently the Board of Directors hold their meetings on the second Wednesday of each month in concurrence with the General Membership meetings; from September through May. |
